GenCyber Cybersecurity Camp 2025 A Huge Success

Jul 28, 2025

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) just wrapped its inaugural GenCyber Cybersecurity Camp on the Texarkana campus, and it was a full house. High school students from across the region spent two action-packed weeks diving deep into the fast-growing world of cybersecurity.

“We’re so proud of the amazing high school students who completed the GenCyber Summer Camp at UAHT this week!” said camp director Brittni Hardie.

Campers didn’t just sit in lectures—they built, broke, and decoded their way through real-world cybersecurity challenges. They explored careers in cyber defense, mastered tools to protect their digital lives, and tackled big concepts like cryptography, robotics, Python programming, and ethical hacking.

Using hands-on projects and GenCyber’s core principles, students learned to Think Like an Adversary, apply Defense in Depth strategies, and approach cybersecurity with the ethics and best practices critical to keeping digital systems secure.

Missed this year’s camp? Don’t worry, we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for next summer’s GenCyber Camp at UAHT.
