GenCyber Summer Camps
INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CYBER STARS!
The GenCyber Summer Camp program provides exciting, hands-on cybersecurity experiences for students in 7-12 grade. Students will explore various aspects of cybersecurity with hands-on exercises focusin on GenCyber concepts including: Defense in Depth, Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Think Like an Adversary, and Keep it Simple. Plus, students will explore career pathways in cybersecurity, equipping the next generation with vital skills to address growing digital security challenges.
No previous cybersecurity knowledge is required. GenCyber Camp is entirely FREE. All camp materials will be provided free of charge for hands-on learning. Students will receive a Certificate of Achievement at the end of the camp. Funding is jointly provided by the National Security Agency and National Science Foundation.
Goals of GenCyber Camp
- Expose high school students to potential careers and issues in cybersecurity.
- Teach students to secure their digital lifestyle.
- Demonstrate to students why "Internet of Things" devices need to be secured.
- Teach the GenCyber First Principles, cybersecurity ethics and online safety and hygiene.
GenCyber Subjects Covered
GenCyber Cybersecurity Concepts: Defense in Depth, Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Thinking like an Adversary, and Keeping it Simple
In addition to these cybersecurity concepts, GenCyber camp will also cover:
- Cryptography
- Cryptanalysis
- Robotics
- Python programming
