The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) is proud to announce the selection of Steven Mullins for the UAHT Foundation Board. Mullins is a lifelong resident of Hempstead County with deep roots in the Hope community. Born in Hope, Arkansas, he graduated from Hope High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arkansas. After beginning his career as an equity trader in New York City, Steven returned home in 2006 and spent a decade in commercial banking. In 2016, he joined Edward Jones, where he currently serves as a Financial Advisor, managing a local branch with more than $200 million in assets and helping individuals and families navigate long-term financial planning.
Steven is deeply committed to community service and leadership. He has served as past president of the Hope–Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce and the Hope Kiwanis Club, and currently serves as President of the Yellow Creek Corporation and a Director of the Hempstead County Fair Board. He is also an active member of First Baptist Church of Hope, where he serves as a deacon and Chairman of Stewardship. Steven and his wife, Sarah, have been married since 2011 and are raising their two children, Nash and Della, in the Spring Hill community near Hope.
“I am honored and humbled to be asked to serve on the UAHT Foundation Board,” Mullins said. “UAHT is an incredibly valuable asset to Southwest Arkansas, and I look forward to continuing to make a difference in our community. Education is the best investment in the future, and I believe the UAHT Foundation embodies that mindset.”
UAHT Foundation Director Kelly Wilcox welcomed Mullins to the board, noting the value of his experience and community ties. “Steven brings a strong combination of financial expertise, leadership, and a genuine commitment to this region,” Wilcox said. “His passion for education and service aligns perfectly with the mission of the UAHT Foundation, and we are excited to have his voice and perspective on our board.”
